Halo ship UNSC Santiago

A ship design I came up with from the Halo universe. This is a troop support vessel, equipped with an experimental ion cannon mounted on it's dorsal hull. This can be used to electrically disable smaller enemy vessels in orbit of a planet, allowing the ship to land and offload troops, tanks and other equipment. The UNSC have found that the ion cannon on this ship is highly effective in punching holes in the shields of much larger enemy vessels, allowing MAC cannons from smaller ships like frigates, to punch through and cause significant damage. This has resulted in the utilization of 'hunter packs' of smaller UNSC vessels, normally consisting of one or two of these ships combined with several frigates.

This is a shot of the Santiago that I composited into a piece of Halo scenic concept art. I'm not 100% sure who the artist of that lovely background is. I think it might be from Josh Kao, who I'm a huge fan of.
